Kitchen Renovation in Groves Hall

Thank You! to all who participated in the completion of our Kitchen Renovation! Check out the photos below to view the transformation!

Work Completed:

Thank you to the 21 volunteers who attended our first workday, a special thanks to the ladies at Brays AC Church for providing lunch, to George and Harley for trenching for the new power line and the pre-demo work, and to Jamey for unloading all the cabinets before we got there! We completed the following items:

• Demolition of wall in the kitchen and doorways in the former cabin
• Retired and hauled off the old freezer (she served us well!)
• Buried the new power line
• Began framing wall to close off the old cabin doorway and the new tray return area
• Began installing tile board on walls as well as trim

Work Completed:

We had 9 volunteers join us for our April 30th workday. Thank you to The Fishing House for providing lunch! We were able to accomplish the following items:

• Covered vent above sink area with drywall
• Painted trim in the former cabin and put a first coat of paint on the back wall above sink area
• Finished framing of doorway and tray return
• Began assembly of fixtures

Work Completed:

We had 12 volunteers join us for our May 7th workday. A special thank you to Brays AC Church for providing Lunch!

• Began plumbing & Electric updates (with minor flood)
• Finished remaining drywall
• Installed more tile board
• Finished Tray Return with Countertop
• Delivered vinyl flooring, 1 Freezer, and Dishwasher

Work Completed:

We had 10 volunteers join us for the May 21st workday. A special thanks to The Fishing House for providing Lunch! We're in the home stretch for completing our renovation!

• Finished tile board (yeah!)
• Filled divots in floor
• Sorted contents of cabinets to figure out what to keep, pitch, and donate
• Began Install of vinyl flooring
• Lots of trim completed, and looking nice!
• Continued Plumbing updates

Work Completed:

We had 17 volunteers join us for the June 4th workday. A special thanks to Brays Advent Christian Church for providing an awesome Lunch! We're getting very close, but we'll need another workday, which is scheduled for next Saturday, June 11th. Join us next Saturday to wrap up (or get a lot closer) our renovation and get the rest of the campground in shape for our summer programs.

• Finished Vinyl flooring
• Delivered remaining Freezer
• Finished remaining painting
• Installed Baseboard
• Got a great start on installation of fixtures

Work Completed:

We had a large group join us for the "last minute" June 11th workday and got several items accomplished. Thank you to Brays AC Church for providing lunch! There will be a group of us gathering this Saturday, June 18th, to do some last minute cleanup. So if you're available, come on by, we'd love to have you! We'll also be posting the final pictures of the kitchen reno project, so check back next weekend for the latest pictures.

• Finished Assembly and install of most fixtures
• Finished some of the Plumbing and started Electric Updates
• Cleaned Humphrey Hall, Wilderness Chapel, Snack Bar, and part of Groves Hall
• General Cleanup around the campground.
